Who counts as a salaried person for tax?

You are taxed under the salaried slabs when more than 75% of your taxable income for the year comes from salary. If salary is 75% or less, the non-salaried (business) slabs apply instead.

Is the tax deducted by my employer final?

No. Your employer deducts tax every month under Section 149, but you still need to file an annual income tax return to stay on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) and claim any refund or adjustment.

Does this include allowances, Zakat or tax credits?

The calculator applies the FBR slabs to the taxable salary you enter. Exempt allowances, Zakat, pension fund contributions, donations and other credits can reduce the final figure. Ask us for an exact computation.

Which tax year should I choose?

Pakistan's tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June and is named after the year in which it ends. Salary earned between July 2026 and June 2027 falls in Tax Year 2027.
